Thought I’d restart this blog, but with some actual text rather than just re-tumbling pics, so here goes…
TBH this whole past year has been hectic and amazing so far:
-Had some AMAZING nights out
-Seen some great live music
-Worked in a job I loved
-Passed my driving test (1st time!)
-Turned 18 myself (finally!)
-Left school for good
-Did my A levels
and most importantly… Got into, and started UNI! (University of Kent to be precise!)
Moving out was always gonna be really weird and daunting, and even the first week here didn’t seem quite real, but it’s exceeded all expectations I had. Obviously I’ve missed home, and knowing I wasn’t gonna see my family and some friends for a while was difficult, but I’ve met so many lovely people here and had some great experiences with them, that I’ve hardly thought of Medway, and I really can’t ever see myself living there permanently again. Not that I hate Medway, and I couldn’t as its where I grew up and all I’ve ever known, but in just over a month I’ve realised that there are so many places in the world I wanna explore!
I’m gonna start with the first day, and meeting my (lovely) housemates. First I met Katie, who’d come from California, then Sam, then Nina, who’d come from the Netherlands, and then Louie, who’d come from South Korea. To put it briefly, I couldn’t have hoped to be living with a nicer group of people!
I still can’t get over how beautiful the campus is!
For me, the first two weeks at least felt like freshers week, and while a lot of other students spent evenings checking out the clubs in town, or at the campus nightclub, I found myself spending a lot of the evenings in mine and other houses nearby just having a few drinks, meeting loads of cool people and generally having fun :) Sadly, I lost my nan during my first week here, but it was good to know that I’d spent time with her before I moved away, and we gave her a really lovely send off.
Remembering that I was supposed to be doing a law degree, the workload has hit pretty hard, especially with an essay in the second week, and what seemed like a bombardment of law materials, textbooks, and info, (I’m making another blog about the first year law experience, so I won’t drone on)
Brighton was a definite highlight of the my first month here, and the events of those 2 days alone could fill another blog post so i’ll keep it to one word: Brilliant!
Brighton’s just stunning isn’t it?
Its a bit delayed but I’ve also joined the Archery Club!, which means I’m gonna get to practise regularly and hopefully meet more cool people :) Can’t wait to start!
That just about brings me up to date, and I’m gonna try to post here regularly to keep track of my uni experiences :)
I’ll leave you with a picture of my delish Bailey’s hot chocolate from Woody’s, enjoy! X
